ewhit73 "The spot" is on the side of the bridge closest to Lower Mystic Lake. From the slabs of granite on the Medford side, cast across the river to the far side at the 12 o-clock position. Slowly work the bait down until it's on the bottom, about 10 feet out from shore, and slowly work the worm. There's a rock pile there I believe that that's where I find success with the Smallmouths. From the same position, you can make a cast to the 2 o'clock position about 30 feet out, letting the worm fall, but working it a bit more quickly, letting the bait suspend a bit. There's a grass bed in this area, and if you fish on the bottom there is a snag there. However, it appears to be a good place for Largemouth, so use a faster action on the retrieve.
