Wilmington River. This is a gorgeous waterway that flows into the Savannah River. It can be accessed at several locations along the body. The Wilmington River is about three miles east of downtown Savannah on Wilmington Island. A good access point on the Wilmington River not far from its confluence with the Savannah, F.W. Spencer Community Park has both a launching ramp and fishing pier. F.W. Spencer Community Park has everything you need for an inshore fishing trip. The fishing pier has handrails, and restrooms and picnic tables are available. The ramp is paved and has two lanes. Bait, fishing gear, food, and drinks are available on site. Key species: red drum, croaker, sheepshead, spotted seatrout.
