Good Day , But An Odd Catch

Spent a half day out at Bellamy Reservoir in Barrington NH. Fairly productive day as I caught 11 bass 1 pickerel and an eyeball. Not Intentional mind you and rather surprising when I reeled in my line. For most of the day I was dragging a green/white senko across the lily pads. My line had just barely kissed the water when it started to boil...thump! I set my hook and prepared for battle. Unfortunately it was over as soon as it began, my line when limp. I quickly reeled back in hoping to pitch it back in , but when I retrieved my line I was greeted by a slightly gruesome sight. ( see photo) I have been fishing for 35 years and never encountered this. I would love to hear from you all to see if this ever happened to you.
