Comment: I have always enjoyed catching them and eating them. They have saved many a poor day and the kids love catching them as well. The only record I know of is Maryland's which is 2lbs 4 ozs. They are bottom feeders who move slowly in large schools of a hundred or more and really like clams or cut bait.

Comment: I love catching spot. Look for the bigger, yellow bellies to show up late in the season like September or October. My largest to date is 1-7.
