Charles River At Norumbega Park

I got up early this morning to do some fishing before work. Wanting to try out a new spot, I went to Norumbega Park in Netwon to fish the Charles.

I found a spot on by the path where one can launch kayaks. I spent about an hour fishing without any success.

I tried a buzz-bait, a spinner, an inline spinner, and top water propeller lure without a nibble.

I switched to a Texas rigged 3" Watermelon senko with black and red flakes, and fished it split shot. I started to get bites.

I ended up landing one largemouth that was probably a little over 12 inches.

All in all, I enjoyed myself, and will return for some before work fishing.

I think I need to witch from mono to braid, I may have had a better sense of when to set the hook.
