5/25/14 - Lake Cochituate

A few of us got out to fish for some bragging rights on Sunday. Just a heads up Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day, the Cochituate gate opens at 8am. So Chuck, and I, Ray and Ronnie, and Mikey Meatballs and Dennis all fish from 8:30am-3pm. Looks like we missed the spawn bite by about a week. All the cove waters looked stagnant, and dingy. Lots of sunfish beds. Just a tough bite overall. Team Way Not Now left at 2pm, they had 3 keeper Bass. Team R & R had 4 Bass for 4lbs. Chuck and I had a limit for 5lbs 5oz. Yikes.

It's like any other body of water. Some days are good and some days are poor. 17+ 2 weeks ago. The big girls moved up and it was like fishing in a barrel.

its close to everyone, big enough for 15 boats, some eye candy once in a while, I have had some luck there a few years ago Chuck and I went out for fun and the last 15 minutes of the day we pulled in like 3-4, 3 pound fish.

I don't ever remember good reports from that place within the last 10 years. Not sure what the repeated fascination is with it and why we continuosly plan stuff there?

pave that place! empty beds everywhere tho, found bait fish but not the bass.....
